Experienced Landscape Architect/Project Leader with a minimum of 5 years’ experience – based in Wiltshire

Balston Agius is principally focused on a wide range of privately owned projects in the UK, working both as designers and project managers, either as leader or as part of a multi-disciplinary consortium. We work closely with Clients Consultants, Contractors and Staff and our philosophy subscribes to flexibility and the use of concentrated expertise when required.

Our main office is in Wiltshire. As a small company, we guarantee a personal service, being selective in the projects we take on in order to ensure that each individual job continually receives the closest attention.

We are seeking a competent and experienced Landscape Architect or landscape orientated architect, preferably with 5 years qualified experience (Part 3 LI minimum) to join our friendly practice. The role will also involve a degree of project management but will primarily be office based. Industry competitive salary. The ideal requirements for the role are:

Qualifications

  • BA (Hons) Degree in Landscape Architecture – Architecture or allied design discipline
  • 5 years’ qualified working experience
  • Clean driving licence

Key Technical Skill/Knowledge/Experience

  • Be proficient in AutoCad, Sketch Up, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, NBS Landscape software and be willing to learn new packages such as KeySCAPE and Rhino
  • Have an interest and background knowledge of associated environmental issues such as soils and water, ecology
  • Have a keen interest and knowledge of plants and planting
  • Be generally conversant in all stages of project development – from analysis through to design, to construction, implementation and management
  • Be experienced in the preparation of illustrated plans and visualisations, working drawings and details.
  • Be experienced in the management of up-to-date drawing records and documents

Personal Skills

  • Be confident in liaising with other consultants and those working on site
  • Have an organised and efficient approach to completing work within tight and often unpredictable deadlines, working additional hours if necessary
  • Be adaptable to working independently and under direction, whilst also working with other individuals with the team

NB: Dog lover, dogs are welcome to be brought into the office as long as they are well behaved and quiet.

Maternity Cover

CAD Technician – Landscape Architect/Architect – 3 – 5 years’ experience – based in Wiltshire

Balston Agius Ltd is a company specialising in Landscape Architecture and Garden Design. As well as our experience in design we engage in detailed planning applications (landscape), site wide and detailed master-planning, horticulture and landscape management. The majority of our work is UK based.

We are looking for a competent CAD Technician – Landscape Architect/Architect, preferably with 3-5 years’ experience to join our practice based in the Patney, Devizes office. The position is a Maternity Cover full-time office-based role, with an initial three month probationary period, with an immediate start date. The successful candidate will work with energy and enthusiasm in assisting the studio to deliver the outstanding landscape design projects that the practice works on. They will be happy to liaise with external consultants and produce technically detailed specifications of a high standard for both hard and soft landscape works. The ideal requirements for the role are:

Main duties

  • Preparation of illustrated plans and visualisations.
  • Creation of Digital 3D models of landscapes and landscape features.
  • Preparation of technical working drawings, details and specifications.
  • Liaison with other consultants.
  • Management of up to date drawing records and documents.
  • Preparation of other documents (bills of quantities, NBS specifications, etc.).

Essential

  • Minimum of three years’ experience working as a CAD technician.

  • Have a keen interest and knowledge of plants and planting.
  • Be generally conversant in all stages of project development – from analysis through to design, to construction, implementation and management.
  • Be experienced in the preparation of illustrated plans and visualisations, working drawings and details.
  • Be experienced in the management of up to date drawing records and documents.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Personal Skills

  • You will be happy to work as part of a small close knit and energetic team.
  • Have a positive, engaging and flexible attitude towards people and projects. Be confident in liaising directly with external consultants and site contractors
  • Have an organised and efficient approach to completing work to the highest standard within tight and often unpredictable deadlines, being willing to work additional hours when required.
  • Be adaptable to working independently and under direction, whilst also working alongside other members of the team.

You should be able to provide one to two references from a referee in the UK, and have your own transport. Candidate should be aware there are dogs that come to the office on daily basis.

We offer a competitive salary, £24,000 – £26,000 based upon experience.
